SHARON SPENCER
Founder and Managing Attorney
Attorney Sharon Spencer is a lifelong resident of Mississippi, born and raised in Jackson. She is a proud graduate of Jim Hill High School, and furthered her studies at Mississippi Stated University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. Upon receiving her undergraduate degree, Sharon returned to the capital city where she received her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
After a God-designed shift in 2016, Sharon’s career trajectory changed when she enrolled in Mississippi College School of Law. During her time at MC Law, she received various awards – including the Rueben V. Anderson Minority Scholarship and the R. Jess Brown Leadership in Racial Reconciliation Scholarship – and was an active participant in numerous organizations. In addition to serving as President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society, a Dean’s Ambassador, and as second chair on two murder trials at the local District Attorney’s Office through MC Law’s externship program under the Law Student Limited Practice Act, Sharon was the only law student of her class to sit for the MS Bar Exam before graduating. Sharon also took courses that allowed her to graduate with a specialized certificate in Civil Litigation.
Shortly after graduating from MC Law, Attorney Spencer became an Assistant District Attorney in an effort to provide advocacy for the voiceless while providing redemption and guidance to offenders. She served as a prosecutor in multiple districts and tried over 30 cases during her six-year span. Attorney Spencer has also resolved hundreds of cases through plea negotiations or non-adjudicated case resolutions.
Sharon has held memberships in a variety of organizations, including the Charles Clark American Inns of Court, Capital Area Bar Association, Jackson Young Lawyers, Mississippi Women’s Lawyers, Junior League of Jackson, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is well-sought after and has served as a speaker for various organizations and has served as a guest lecturer for various law school classes.
Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and friends, singing, relaxing, enjoying the outdoors and traveling. Yet, her greatest joy comes from watching God’s great plans unfold for her life…exceeding her wildest dreams.

OUR PURPOSE AND MISSON

Purpose
In 1979, seventeen-year-old Eddie Spencer stood before a judge facing a life sentence after being convicted of Armed Robbery. For the past ten years, he’d been cycled in an out of the criminal justice system, spending time at county jails, training schools, and every other facility in between, but now, he prepared to begin his sentence at Parchman Penitentiary. For years Eddie allowed anger, poverty, and lack of self-control drive his actions. He was angry at the world and didn’t care who would feel his wrath. That is until he met God. Once Eddie surrendered his life to Christ, he began to see a transformation in the way he viewed life. Was life suddenly easy? Absolutely not, but Eddie had a new perspective and reason to live. Seeing my father not only talk the talk, but walk the walk has inspired me in ways unimaginable. For years, I’ve watched him minister to at-risk youth, incarcerated individuals, and ex-offenders, letting them know that no matter what stage of life they are in….he has been there, and change is possible. His motto, “If God can change me, He can change anybody,” has been imprinted in my mind and heart. But not only did I allow it to remain a motto I heard during his ministry, God has allowed it to be a mission by which I practice.

Reform
As a long practicing Assistant District Attorney, I’d often tell defendants (with their attorney’s present, of course), “You are not your worst mistake!” My goal was to keep people from becoming repeat offenders, and letting them know that a new life awaits them – if only they will take hold and grab it! During those years of practice, I not only learned what is required to prosecute a case, but what measures should be implemented to allow ex-offenders to be productive citizens as they re-enter society. My goal was, and remains, to transform lives and reform the system.

Transform
Now, while my goals remain the same, my position within the courtroom has changed. As a Defense Attorney, I am ready to walk with defendants through some of their toughest times. Having been a successful prosecutor for over five years and thoroughly understanding the legal system, I have an advantage of being able to guide one to the best resolution for their case. Having tried over 30 cases within the last five years, I understand the rules of evidence and will fight to ensure you have the best representation there is. Having pled over 500 cases, I will use my expertise to evaluate your case, history, and probability at trial to determine the best plea agreement for you. For years, I’ve fought for the State of Mississippi…..now, let me fight for you!
